Did you miss me? I hope your summer vacations were all as exciting as mine! But as you all know, summer’s almost over and that means it’s back to school for all of us. Not to fear, though! We’ve got plenty of fun activities for kids to help get you all back into the school spirit!

First you’re going to want to get ready for school. Have a lot of books this year? Why not make your own backpack to keep them in! Scared of the cafeteria food? Bring your lunch in from home with your very own homemade lunch bag!

Once you get to school, you’ll get to brush up on all of your favorite subjects like reading and math and magic… what’s that? They don’t teach magic at school? Well they do now! Our buddy Ryan Oakes is accepting students for the ATV School of Magic, where he’ll teach you all kinds of cool school-themed magic tricks! Learn a little lunch money magic to have extra money for a snack at recess, or make your extra school supplies disappear with the amazing vanishing paper clip trick!

With all of these cool back to school activities, you’ll be all to eager to get back to class. Check them out for yourself and have a great school year!

What summer is complete without a trip to the beach? Activity TV has lots of ideas to help make your next day trip to your local shore a blast! Ever want to learn how to make a sandcastle? We’ll show all kinds of unique sandcastle designs that will make your sand sculpture stand out above all of the rest, at least until high tides hits… Even better, we can teach you how to do it with your very own homemade sand pail!

Summer’s not just about having fun though. It’s also about looking good! Luckily, ATV can help out with that too! Our old pal Lisa Bleyaert has lots of great ideas to keep you in style for the season! You can learn how to tye-dye your own shirts, decorate your flip-flops to make them really cool, even avoid getting too much sun with homemade visors for your head and cool hand-decorated sunglasses for your eyes. For all the girls out there, we’ve got cool ways to braid your hair too!

Guess what! Your favorite canine puppy pal has been added to the 2009 CableFAX Digital Hot List!!! That’s right, you’re now reading the blog of an award-winning sock puppy! Whoo-hoo! I guess every dog does have his day!!!

In case you forgot, Valentine’s Day is coming up fast, and everyone knows that the best gifts for loved ones at this time of year are ones that come from the heart. With that in mind, Activity TV is offering up all kinds of heartfelt, homemade Valentine’s Day gift ideas for kids to make to show their friends and family just how special they are!

Show some love with a nice handmade Valentine’s necklace, a cute picture frame, or an old-fashioned homemade Valentine. Maybe some yummy Valentine’s Day treats are what you need to tell someone how you feel. If so, we’ve got you covered there too! No one will be able to resist these great works of heart!

It’s a brand new year on Activity TV, and that means all new fun activities for kids!

This month, it’s a whole new song and dance routine, literally! My new friend Cassie Crump is teaching us how to get up and dance with some cool, easy-to-learn dance moves.

These awesome steps will be sure to get the party started anywhere you go! Now if only I could get my paws into rhythm…

But what fun is dancing without a little music to go with it! Fear not, my friends! Dave Jadico has you covered with his wide selection of homemade musical instruments! You can learn how to make and play singing water glasses, or start a band with a pair of bongos and a homemade shoebox guitar!

With these instruments, you can learn to play your favorite songs or even write your own! I can’t wait to start my own puppy band. We’re going to be huge!!!

Whew! The responses that you guys have been posting are awesome, and I really appreciate the kind words you have written.

Chante from MD wrote that my V is for Valentine Cartoon is a wonderful Valentines Day gift idea. Thanks for bringing that up! A sketch like this is great for making your own greeting card. When you create a card for someone in your family or one of your friends, it says that you must really care about them because you took time to make one rather than buy one at the store.

Speaking of creating your own greeting cards from your cartoon drawings, that is just what Savanna from FL said about the S is for Santa Claus Cartoon. This cartoon all started with the letter S that I turned into Santa. This is called a Doodle Trick. Cartooning with numbers and letters is a blast!!!! The key is to build on what that number or letter presents to you in the way of possibilities. For example, the bottom part of the letter S worked great for Santa’s nose, while the top part worked nicely for his eyebrow. Coming up with different ideas for the same letter is the way to develop your “Cartoonist” eye!!

Seasons greetings, kids! As you all know, it’s that special time of year again, and your favorite website is getting into the spirit with a great selection of fun activities perfect for the holidays.
